In ancient times, cat people really existed.  People say it is so.  Is the cat people true name of these people or no, nobody knows. Maybe this Mongolian word “moor” for cat came to be a Chinese word.  Mongolians never domesticated the feline; they didn’t have the need to keep cats.  Of course nomads didn’t need animals as small as mittens.  A cat can’t herd or guard livestock.
